5) Feeding Position : (2009-10)
Dry grass, Jowar Kadbi fodder , concentrate and pasture grazing are available for feeding of animals. Green shrubs, bushes , ber and babhul trees are also available for feeding the goat flock.
Green Jowar fodder : 29 tons.
Silage (Maize + Jawar) 03 tower silo-pits filled with capacity of 7.5 tons.
Green Grass : 10.4 tons
6) Nature of Services :
This dairy farm followed the practice of natural service as well as artificial insemination for fertilization of dairy animals.
7) Education :
Under Graduate : There are total five courses in this discipline
comprising 11 credits for B.Sc. (Agri) Students.

8) Significant Achievements :-
A) This department has developed technology for the preparation of animal feed from orange pomace, left over material of orange processing unit through ICAR Adhoc research project entitled “ orange pomace utilization in ruminants ration" this work is the unique work conducted for the first time at national livel
B) This department has been awarded with the “ Awards for the best Animal " in the state level cattle show organized by state Animal Husbandry Department 1984
C) About 26.00 MT greens are converted in to silage per year which is a unique feature of this department
D) The staff member of this department had published more than 160 research paper & 100 extension articals.
E) Total 202 M.Sc. Students completed the degree from this department students this department

11) Recommendation (2009-10) : Approved in
Title: Preparation of burfi Goat milk blended with different fruit pulps.
It is recommended that, burfi prepared with blending of mango pulp @ 35 and 30 percent sugar by weight of khoa from goat milk @ 4 percent fat can be stored for 9 days at ambient temperature (27±2oc) and 13 days at refrigerated temperature (6±2oc) safely.
Hereafter, this product will be called as “Dr. P.D.K.V. Berar Burfi.”
